Pay To Participate Program - Athletics
In order to maintain our present athletic program
offerings at the high school, middle school and elementary
level it has been determined that a PAY TO PARTICIPATE fee
must be charged beginning with the 20 05 school year.
Cost of the Pay to Participate fees are:
- The participation fee is a one-time fee for the
entire school year.
- Middle School - $30
Rules for payment:
All fees must be paid at the time when an athlete turns in
their physical form. An athlete may not tryout for a team;
participate in a practice, scrimmage or contest until the
fee is paid.
Rules for Refund:
If an athlete does not make the team they will receive a
refund. If the athlete decides they no longer wish to be
part of the team prior to the first contest they will
receive a refund.
- Full refunds will be made to an athlete that is
unable to continue their sport because of injury,
transfer, or illness if this occurs during the first
half of the season. After the halfway point of the
season no refunds will be granted.
- If an athlete is removed from the team due to a
training rule or school handbook violation they will not
be granted a refund.
Pay to Participate Philosophy:
The purpose of the Pay to Participate fee is to help the Bay
City Public Schools maintain its present athletic offerings.
Without the use of the money generated from this fee
athletic programs and teams would have to be reduced. The
payment of this fee in no way guarantees playing time.
Pay to Participate Program Fees:
Students who are going to participate in extra
curricular activities will have to pay a participation fee.
Seventh and eighth grade Interscholastic Athletics - $30.00
one-time fee. Sixth Grade Sports - $10.00 one-time fee.
Competitive Academics:
$10.00 one-time fee (Academic Track – Science Olympiad)
After School Activities:
$5.00 one-time fee. The only after school activity that does
not have a fee is Homework Club.
