EXPLORE 6th GRADE FRENCH WITH MADAME SEITZ
Bienvenue à la classe de français!
(6 weeks filled with learning adventure!!)

Students will acquire French language basics including the alphabet, numbers 1-1000, calendar and weather. Skit conversations and “survival 101” dialogues will have students speaking using greetings, politeness, and other important skills such as giving opinions and making telephone calls.
Students will have time to experience a bit of the French Canadian and European cultures. Students will create and present a poster detailing their own in-class computer discovery of the diverse beauty of Canada and France.

EXPLORE 7th GRADE SPANISH WITH SEÑORA SEITZ
¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español!
(6 weeks filled with learning adventure!!)

Students will acquire Spanish language basics including the alphabet, numbers 1-1000, calendar and weather. Skit conversations and “survival 101” dialogues will have students speaking using greetings, politeness, and other important skills such as giving opinions and making telephone calls.
Students will have time to experience a bit of Spanish (Latin American and European) cultures. Students will create and present a “cubed poster” detailing their own in-class computer discovery of the diverse beauty of Latin America and Spain.

SPANISH 1 (with the opportunity to earn High School Credit) with Señora Seitz

Students will acquire the main structures of the Spanish language and develop BEGINNER oral proficiency skills, reading comprehension, and writing skills in Spanish. Students will demonstrate an understanding of Spanish speaking cultures through language and culture studies. Beyond this, students should begin to appreciate language learning as a source of personal enrichment which becomes a natural resource for developing their world view.
Language is more than academic; it's a way of life. Students will develop their communication skills!
The ¡Exprésate! text book is based upon the "5 C's" of the National Standards for Learning World Languages: Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, Communities. Students should want to be able to communicate with knowledge within and beyond the classroom, within and beyond the neighborhood, within and beyond the perimeters of our comfort zones "back home". Beyond the borders and out into the world!
